Doubts

I've just received a call from the neurologist's office. Having seen the results of the cisternogram done earlier this week, there is now some doubt as to the accuracy of the hydrocephalus diagnosis. Specificaly, the cisternogram showed no buildup of fluid in my brain.

I'm confused.

Something is definitely wrong; my legs work rather less than well, after all. Hardly at all, really. But having ruled out MS and ALS, and now pretty much ruling out the hydrocephalus... what is left? Perhaps we'll know more after my next trip to the neurologist.

Damn, this is aggravating. Now we're back to not knowing again.

Frustrating. :[

So when's the next visit? After the August recess for the "Neurophysiology of Golf: the Coriolis Effect" research seminar (locations to be announced after initial arrival in Hawaii)?

Got a call an hour ago. Next appointment, with The Neurologist Himself, will be the 17th.

Well, hell. I would hate not knowing.

:( I hope they figure this out soon.

What a disappointment. I thought it was great that they diagnosed you with something they could fix. Now this?

Don't give up hope. "Pretty much ruled out" means there's still a chance, right?

Ya. Well, this is typical for the progression of this thing. Just when we think it's one thing, new information contradicts it. I can't imagine what the next line of investigation will be. No, that's not true; I know it'll be expensive, time-consuming, and probably painful.

"Slim to none" is the impression I got. I've an appointment w/ the neurologist where we'll go over the possibilities in more detail.

Whatever it is, you will beat it, severely.

BTW, I should have mentioned earlier that the Golf Tourn--er, research project ends early this year, on the 15th.

(And BTW2: that's the fastest reply I've ever seen from you on this! Figures I'd just this time not check the comments for a couple days. :| I'm used to not hearing back ever, or not for a day or two, depending on your drinking schedule, the cat, and your pensive anticipation of the next "Baghdad Diarist" in TNR.)

Alien Probes? Have they checked for Alien Probes? Or Maybe it's the Cheney-Halliburton Death Ray Satellite....

Seriously, buddy, I'm pulling for you. Where else am I gonna trade barbecue posts?
