I can't help but think that it's a fancy way of saying "rabble rouser, on the payroll."
Sort of like using "sanitation engineer" instead of "garbageman."

As compelling as Sonnen is - and I'd watch UFC 117 even if he wasn't fighting Anderson Silva - I don't think he can stand up against someone like The Spider. Chael Sonnen pretty much needs the fight to go to the ground to have any chance, because his standup isn't all that great.
