Severe pain

Since Monday I've been in pain, rapidly escalating to seriously mind-altering amounts of pain. This morning, given the opportunity, I'd have cheerfully removed my own foot with a hacksaw.

The doc says he'll have a definitive answer tomorrow or Friday - but the options are tendonitis, arthritis, or gout.

Gout? Gout?!?!

Blogging will resume when I can put my feet on the floor for more than 5 minutes at a time.

Well, speaking from experience, pain ain't fun! Of course you could hang upsidedown to get the pressure off your foot but that might be hard to explain to your cohorts at the office. Is cannibis an option?

Good thing I can work from home. The trapeze would be pretty hard to explain to my colleagues.

But Mom... cannabis??? It's obvious to me that you have been in California far, far too long.

Russ, I've suffered from gout for about 15 years now. Boy do I have some stories to tell you. I thought my ankle was broken the first time I had an attck before I knew what it was. If you don't have Indomethacin prescribed already, go get a new doctor. You situation will only get worse until it is addressed. Of course, there are side effects, but they pale in comparison to what you are going through right now.

Good luck, and I hope it's something else.

Hope I'm not too late for wishing you speedy relief and a healing for your foot. You're fortunate that you can work from home and not have to do the "out of work" dance (even tougher to do with a bad foot).

I had the first occurance about a year and a half ago. Though I had mysteriously broke my toe. I am on the couch suffering with my second case of Gout. On week 4 - cycles from severe and cripling to good enough to run on. I drink quite a bit of alchol (like 5 or 6 a night), but am considering totally quitting. I am also doing the cherry concentrate thing. Ug
